If we except the small light grey circle which has no impact on what follows, the painting that
you have just seen displays three distinct colours, two of which are painted - a medium
grey, a cerulean blue and a third colour which, without being painted is nonetheless
apparent. Furthermore, the complexity of the visible is such that one cannot determine the
position of the unpainted colour.
It is a true apparition, an epiphany.
In this way the neologism "chromogony" is justified since "chromo" means colour and "genos"
means generation, in the sense of procreation.
This demonstrates that the participation of the spectator, even if he is the painter engaged in
the act of painting, is a constituent part of the visual phenomenon by which knowledge is
refuted.
